But we also haven’t been living under a rock for the past few months. People have been gunning for Facebook like never before. So we thought – what better time than Social Media Week here in London to start a proper argument about Facebook’s future – and whether it has one. Register below for your free ticket to this event. If you’re a brand marketer, agency social media planner or just feel strongly about the rights and wrongs of Facebook, this is the Social Media Week London event you won’t want to miss.

Facebook 1 Billion: End of the Beginning or Beginning of the End?

Tuesday, September 25, 9am. Media, Mobile & Lifestyle Hub at Unruly

Facebook approaches its 1 Billionth user while under the spotlight as never before. A few years ago Facebook was one of many social networks. Now it’s the world’s most important social media platform. On Tuesday at 9am in Unruly, our panel will discuss Facebook’s future.

Betapond wanted to sponsor this discussion and bring together some people with real insight. John Armah of Betapond will make the case for Facebook, Ian Maude of Enders Analysis will offer a more skeptical point of view. Daniel Head of Salesforce will also join the panel with his views on how Facebook is evolving.

Chairing is Victor Keegan, who for nearly five decades was the Guardian Technology Columnist and now heads Shakespeare’s Monkey.
